surprise!

They were off to the MTC. They thought they had said their final good-byes to each of us, but they were mistaken. My siblings and I surprised my parents this weekend by showing up in SLC to give my Mom and Dad a proper MTC send off. To quote my Dad, it was
"the surprise of a lifetime."

my dad...speechless.

my mom...teary.

I will miss them while they are away, but I smile when I think on all the experiences they will have as they search out those who are looking for more. I have no doubt there will be some who will be forever changed for having crossed paths with these two people. I am proud to claim them as mine and I imagine that He...is even prouder.

Having fun making this. So easy (embroidery floss, linen, beads) and a great gift idea. Just needs to be pressed and framed.

Have a great day...chick-a-dees!

roots

I've been meaning to do this for awhile. A way for my kids to put faces to names of great and even greaters from our family tree.

(love the top left picture of my grandma betty. so vogue.)

Sort of a mixed media way to present things. I plan to do something similar to represent all sides of our family.

I imagine they will ask who is who and I will tell them. They have a legacy second to none and I want them to know it.

funny

A conversation with Cole on the way to Grandma's house.

C: Mom where are we going?
Me: I am taking you to Grandma's?
C: Is Cody going to stay too?
Me: Yes.
C: Well...so you're not staying?
Me: Nope.
C: Well...so you'll be by yourself and that will be sad for you?
Me: Pretty sure it won't be.
C: Well... you'll be scared.
Me: I'll be fine bud.
C: Well...just turn all the lights on and don't think about crabs because they're scary.
Me: O.K. I'll try not to think about crabs. Thanks bud.
